How We HelpedSingapore’s school year starts in January, not September. For the government system the route is AEIS: applications in July, tests in September, results mid-December, school in January. No rolling admission, no appeal, and the posting is final. International students are admitted only against vacancies remaining after citizens and permanent residents. We ran the decision backwards from the January intake, started the Cambridge English certificate the youngest needed before he could even apply, and lodged international school applications in parallel.
OutcomeDecision taken in March, ten months before the intake. All three sat AEIS in September; two were placed for January, and the eldest took a held international school offer rather than waiting a further year.
