BUSINESS IN SINGAPORE

Set it up properly, then keep it running.

Incorporation is the part everyone advertises. What we do is the twelve months after it — banking, accounting, tax, passes, hiring — sequenced so nothing blocks anything else.

Who this is for

Founders and owner-managers moving a business into Singapore, usually from Europe, the Middle East or East Asia. Sometimes it is a first international entity; sometimes Singapore is the regional base for something already established. Occasionally people come to us having already registered a company themselves and hit a wall at the bank.

What these situations share is that the founder is not in Singapore, does not know which requirements are real and which are habit, and cannot afford to lose a quarter finding out.

HOW WE WORK

How we work with you in 5 easy steps

Five steps, one team, one point of contact throughout. You brief us once.

STEP 1

Understand your plans

Contact us to arrange a call with a Xinran consultant, so we understand the business, the family and the dates you are working to.

STEP 2

Confirm scope and fees

We put the scope and the price in writing before any work starts, so you know the cost and the timeline before you commit.

STEP 3

Incorporate your company

We check name availability, register the company under the right structure (Sole Prop, LP, LLP or Pte Ltd) and work with local banks to open your account.

STEP 4

Coordinate your move

We prepare the owner-director pass, dependant passes and school applications as one file, so the family and the business move together.

STEP 5

Provide ongoing support

We provide corporate secretary, registered office address, accounting, payroll and tax services, with renewals tracked on an annual calendar.

PEOPLE

Passes are evidence exercises, not form-filling.

Employment Pass, S Pass, work permits, Dependant’s Pass for family, renewals. Applications are assessed on qualifications, salary, the role and the company behind it — which means the case is largely built before anything is submitted.

We prepare that case and submit through appropriate channels. We do not promise approval, because it is not ours to promise.

Questions we get asked

Incorporation is usually a day or two. A corporate bank account is anywhere from two to eight weeks, depending on your structure, residency and industry. An Employment Pass typically runs three to eight weeks after that. Plan on two to three months from first conversation to genuinely operating.

Three separate things: our coordination fee, third-party professional fees, and government charges. You get all three broken out in writing before anything starts. We would rather lose a client at the quotation stage than surprise one at invoice stage.

Not to incorporate. For banking, most banks now want to meet a director, in person or by video, and some still insist on in-person. We will tell you which applies to your situation before you book flights.

It happens, usually over structure, industry or source of funds rather than anything personal. We would normally have flagged the risk before applying, and we go again with a different bank and a stronger file.

Not sure whether Singapore is the right move yet?

That is a fine place to start from. Tell us what you are trying to do and we will give you a costed view of what it would take — including the case for not doing it.
